Favorite Shoe: The Provision

I have been competitively running for just over four years. In those four years, I have run seven marathons. I have also run several other races from 5ks to half marathons to mud runs. My passion for running has taken me across the country and opened up new friendships and wonderful opportunities. I credit most of my passion for running to a non-profit charity called Back on My Feet. If it weren’t for them, I would never have been inspired to run my first marathon in Baltimore. My six years of active duty military experience has taught me to never give up, and always keep moving forward. My future goals are to run a 2:30 marathon, and compete in an Ironman event. Currently I am a Health Service Technician in the United States Coast Guard Reserves, an emergency medical technician, and a sales associate at a local running store. I go to college at the University of Maryland, and enjoy spending time with my very supportive family, my beautiful daughter, and my hound dog Betty White. I truly believe that Altra’s zero toe drop design is the best, and most versatile running shoe on the market. As a person in the medical field, I can see how this shoe will benefit any runner in promoting efficient running form, and decreasing risk for certain running related injuries.
My passion for running has taken me across the country and opened up new friendships and wonderful opportunities. It is very few times in our life that we measure the limits of our spirit, our physical endurance, and our mental will. I believe that every person, at least once in their life should test these boundaries, and see what they are made of. It is important for us to explore how far we are willing to push ourselves mentally, spiritually, and physically. Running provides us with the opportunity to measure our character, and build on it.
